Sustainability has always been at the core of Pilot Pen Singapore’s values, driving our commitment to creating high-quality writing instruments with minimal environmental impact. In addition to consciously incorporating waste reduction practices and innovating sustainable products that prioritise both durability and reusability, we are also actively involved in nationwide initiatives that promote sustainability education for the next generation. By fostering environmental awareness and responsible habits among young people, we strengthen our commitment to shaping a greener future and making a lasting positive impact on the environment.
Since 2015, we have been a proud corporate sponsor of the Gardens By The Bay: Race to Sustainability! event. The event aims to inspire students to take action against climate change by raising awareness of its threats and impacts.
Through the event, which has seen over 4,000 teenagers between the ages of 12 to 17 participating annually, students learn how Singapore is working toward a sustainable future through innovative solutions, while discovering Gardens By The Bay’s environmental sustainability strategies. Through solving interactive puzzles and taking on fun side quests, students gain a deeper appreciation of the need for conservation and responsible living, emphasising the role we all play as global citizens in protecting our planet.
All participating students are gifted the Pilot SuperGrip G Ocean Pen, which is made from materials recuperated from oceans, beaches, rivers, lakes and the banks of those waterways, and contains 2% of ocean plastic content (excluding its refill) with a rate of 74.1% of recycled materials used in its production. In addition, winners of the race also receive prizes from one of our key environmentally-friendly innovations – the BeGreen line – which offers pens made from at least 70% recycled plastic.
