At the inaugural Singapore Youth Olympic Games in 2010, Pilot Pen was the official Writing Instruments Sponsor. Pilot provided writing instruments for athletes, officials and volunteers. Premium items such as fountain pens were developed and sponsored as Singapore 2010’s corporate gifts.
Together with the master licensee Honav, Pilot specially designed and released the Limited-Edition Singapore 2010 Cufflinks and Pilot Capless Fountain Pen set as an official licensed merchandise for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games.
Pilot also presented a Limited Commemorative Edition Pilot Blossoming Orchids Pen to the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee (SYOGOC). The pen presentation was meaningful as it marked a significant and timely reminder that Singapore was on its way to rewriting its sporting history. Inspired by the vibrant spirit of YOG, the commemorative writing instrument encapsulated the energy and vigour of the youth athletes heralding in fresh new beginnings. Featuring an 18-karat precision gold nib with rhodium accent, the Limited Commemorative Edition Pilot Blossoming Orchids Pen was limited to only 100 pieces worldwide.
The pen continues to be displayed at the YOG Learning Centre and at the YOG Museum after the Games.
In celebration of the YOG, Pilot also spearheaded “The Write Choice for Champions” project. The initiative was aimed at motivating schools all around Singapore to promote the YOG and to accelerate the momentum of building excitement and enthusiasm towards this inaugural youth sporting event. Under the project, Pilot supported schools which held YOG-related events, sponsoring materials such as pen products and prizes.
